Also  known as Rare Pietersite and often called the Tempest Stone, Peitersite evokes a strong natural energy. The rich gold colour that is accented by blues, browns and greys of varying shade gives this gemstone the name of Tempest Stone, it reminds one of dark skies and thunderstorms. It was named by its discoverer, Sid Pieters, who found it in 1962, in Namibia, Africa. It was later also found in China, these are the only two sources for Pietersite. 

Called the Tempest Stone due to its’ swirls of blues, white and black. One can easily imagine a storm brewing when gazing into a Pietersite. It has an almost three dimensional appearance that makes it a great gazing (divination) tool. Despite its’ looks, this is a very strong, yet gentle, gemstone that will charge other crystals and gemstones, some believe that it can cleanse the energy bodies of the Aura, and balance the Chakras.
