A precious gemstone first discovered in Burma, South Asia, over two thousand years ago, Rubies have since been discovered in Cambodia, India, Afghanistan, Australia, Namibia, Colombia, Japan, Scotland, Brazil and in Pakistan. Used mostly in jewelry, the most valuable Rubies are a medium to medium dark red in colour. Lighter shades are considered pink Sapphires
